June 30, 2026, (Inside AI) — A sudden sealing drive across DLF Phases 1–5 in Gurgaon has forced thousands of tenants to find new homes within hours, pushing many toward an experimental AI rental platform and zero-brokerage support from local realtors.

The enforcement, led by the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), began on June 18 and targets unauthorized commercial use in residential areas. The official deadline for tenants to relocate is today.

Jatin Madaan, 27, co-founder and CEO of StayPe.ai, launched live.staype.ai on Sunday night after a friend was evicted. The free platform lets displaced tenants post requirements, share leads, and connect with verified homeowners.

“We will not take money for the service. So far, we have around 10 listings and over 50 users, including displaced tenants and some brokers who know of available properties,” Madaan told The Indian Express.

The platform uses AI to organize information and will soon automate matching based on community inputs. Verification includes checking user employment and broker backgrounds. Users can flag illegal properties for immediate delisting.

Meanwhile, realtor Deepti Verma launched a zero-brokerage initiative for those under 25. She received over 250 calls and arranged temporary stays for three young women, coordinating with homeowners and a local gurdwara.

The crackdown, ordered by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, is set to intensify from Wednesday. Officials have pasted notices on illegal paying guest accommodations and guesthouses, slipping copies into tenant rooms.
