June 22, 2026, (Inside AI) — Google has embedded a Gemini-powered conversational assistant directly into Google Ad Manager, changing how publishers and advertisers interact with campaign data. The tool, called Ask Ad Manager, lets users ask plain-language questions to diagnose issues, analyze performance, and receive personalized guidance without manual report generation.

This launch targets a long-standing friction point: the platform’s complexity often forces users to generate multiple reports and manually compare data just to identify a problem with a single line item. Ask Ad Manager replaces that process with a direct question-and-answer interface.

Google stated in its announcement:

"Instead of manually trying to find out what's wrong with a line item by generating reports and sifting through data, now you can use Ask Ad Manager. You'll get insights and guidance and can ask follow-up questions, which can help you identify and resolve issues and unblock revenue."

The assistant analyzes each user’s individual campaign data rather than offering generic responses. This personalization extends to navigation, with the system automatically loading relevant filters and settings based on conversational context.

Google added:

"Instead of clicking around the platform, you'll get personalized guidance and strategically created links that direct you to the right place in Ad Manager."

Ask Ad Manager also generates custom reports with multiple parameters on request. Each response includes a link to a broader overview of how relevant components work, providing both immediate answers and a path to deeper understanding.

The system builds on conversational AI patterns users have developed through tools like Gemini search and ChatGPT, applying them to a professional workflow where the learning curve has historically been steep. For advertisers running campaigns across multiple publishers, the assistant promises a meaningful reduction in diagnostic time.

Industry observers note that while similar AI assistants have appeared in analytics platforms, Google’s deep integration and access to real-time campaign data could set a new standard. However, questions remain about how the model handles ambiguous queries or conflicting performance signals across complex campaign structures.

Google has not disclosed whether Ask Ad Manager will remain free or eventually become part of a premium support tier. The assistant is rolling out globally to Google Ad Manager users starting today.
