September 5, 2026, (Inside AI) — Foxconn expects its third-quarter performance to beat market forecasts. The Taiwanese contract electronics maker credits strong AI-related demand for the improved outlook, according to a company statement issued Saturday.
The company, formally called Hon Hai Precision Industry, said visibility for the current quarter has improved from the previous month. It did not provide numerical guidance, consistent with its long-standing policy.
Foxconn is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer. It serves as Nvidia's biggest server maker and a major supplier to Apple. The company has been a primary beneficiary of the AI infrastructure buildout.
Last month, Foxconn reported a 35% rise in second-quarter profit, beating analyst estimates. The company said AI demand continues to grow while ICT products enter their peak season in the second half of the year.
"In the third quarter, as AI demand continues to grow, and ICT products also enter the peak season of the second half of the year, operations are expected to gradually gain momentum," the company said in a statement.
"Currently, the company's visibility for the third quarter has improved compared to the previous month, with overall performance expected to outperform market expectations," it added.
Foxconn also cautioned about "volatile" global politics. The company said it remains necessary to monitor the impact of the volatile global political and economic situation, without elaborating further.
The upbeat outlook follows record August revenue. Foxconn reported monthly revenue of T$921.8 billion ($29.15 billion), up 51.98% from a year earlier. It was the highest amount ever for August and the second consecutive month above T$900 billion.
Foxconn shares closed up 3.4% on Friday before the revenue data was released. The broader Taiwan market gained 1.5% the same day.
AI Server Demand Drives Foxconn's Revenue Surge
The revenue jump reflects accelerating orders for AI servers. Foxconn has expanded production capacity for Nvidia's GB200 and other accelerator-based systems. Cloud service providers continue to invest heavily in data center infrastructure.
Foxconn's server business now accounts for a growing share of total revenue. The company has said AI servers could represent more than half of its server revenue by 2026. Margins on AI servers remain higher than traditional enterprise hardware.
The company operates manufacturing sites across China, India, Vietnam, Mexico, and the United States. Recent capacity additions in Mexico and Taiwan target North American cloud customers. Foxconn is also exploring AI applications in smart manufacturing and electric vehicles.
Industry analysts note that Foxconn's diversification beyond Apple has accelerated. The company's cloud and networking products segment, which includes AI servers, posted strong growth in the second quarter. That segment now rivals the consumer electronics division in profitability.
Geopolitical Risks Cloud Foxconn's AI Growth Path
Foxconn's caution about volatile global politics reflects real operational risks. The company faces potential tariff changes, export controls on advanced semiconductors, and supply chain disruptions. Taiwan's geopolitical status remains a persistent concern for investors.
The company has responded by building redundant production lines outside China. Foxconn's investments in India and Mexico aim to reduce concentration risk. However, advanced AI server assembly still relies heavily on components from Taiwanese and American suppliers.
Foxconn does not provide numerical forecasts, making qualitative statements like "outperform market expectations" notable. The company typically reserves such language for periods of unusually strong demand visibility. The last time Foxconn used similar phrasing was during the pandemic-driven electronics boom.
The company's August revenue of T$921.8 billion suggests third-quarter revenue could approach T$2.8 trillion if September maintains momentum. That would represent year-over-year growth exceeding 40%. Analysts will update models following the company's statement.
Foxconn's next earnings call is expected in November. The company may provide additional color on AI server order backlogs and capacity utilization. Investors will also watch for updates on the company's electric vehicle partnerships and semiconductor strategy.
